Commercial Producer/WJLA & News Channel 8:
The Commercial Production Department of WJLA/ News Channel 8 is seeking a creative, innovative and outgoing writer/producer to join a fast paced commercial production team (Must have 5 + years experience in Television Production, editing skills are a great plus!). The Commercial Producer is responsible for facilitating the production of commercials, public service announcements, and/or specialty videos assigned by the Commercial Production Manager from concept to completion. The Commercial Producer works to deliver the highest-quality creative possible within the constraints of the clients’ imagination, the production budget, and the scheduled start date.

-Attends meetings with internal and external clients to gather information about the product, service, or subject for each video project.
-Creates concepts for projects and collaborates with other department members on concepts.
-Works to create a cohesive marketing plan for all clients big and small.
- Writes and presents scripts (and/or storyboards, when deemed necessary).
-Books (as necessary) cast, crew, gear, and location needed to produce the project.
-Gathers raw materials needed for production, such as props, voice-over recordings, logos, artwork, and photos.
-Assists on location/studio shoot(s), helping to insure that the concept, as scripted, is captured on tape/film.
-Works directly with the Post-Production Editor on each project to insure they understand the concept of the initial edit or subsequent revisions, and have everything needed to assemble the project.
-Manages multiple projects at one time, make sure to schedule all aspects of their production in an organized order and in the most efficient way possible to insure completion by their deadline.
-Communicates with Commercial Production Manager, Account Executives, Clients, Talent, Crew, Editor regarding project logistics.
-Works to create a cohesive marketing plan for all clients big and small.
